US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton flew to Nairobi, Kenya 3 August on the first leg of an African tour that underscores the importance the Obama administration attaches to engaging with Africa, a policy begun under the previous administration. It comes just three weeks after President Obama’s speech in Accra, Ghana. In addition to Kenya, Clinton will visit South Africa, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Liberia and Cape Verde.
