Basel, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – FC Basel captain Franco Costanzo was fined by his team and might face further punishment after his outburst and attack on teammate, Swiss defender Beg Ferati. The Argentinian goalkeeper apologized for his behaviour at the end of  a 1-1 draw against rivals FC Zurich. The fine will be paid into a fund (“Fanarbeit Basel”) designed to improve the behaviour of supporters!

Alexander Frei, the leading Swiss goalscorer, also said sorry for being sent off  following a confrontation with Johan Vonlanthen in the same game.
