Two massive bombs went off in the central part of Baghdad, killing more than 75 people and leaving more than 300 wounded. A truck with a bomb hidden in it went off outside of the Iraqi foreign ministry, just outside of the protected Green Zone. It left a crater 3 metres deep and 10 metres wide. Another bomb went off near the finance ministry. Several smaller explosions, believed to be mortars, were also reported. It was the deadliest day since the US military forces handed back security to the Iraqi forces. Bomb attacks are still common in Baghdad but have tended to target poor Shia neighbourhoods. BBC, CNN

As a two-time veteran of the Iraqi campaign, my opinion is that the security situation may appear secure, as you see thousands upon thousands of concrete barriers. But the reality is that if the Iraqi Police and the Iraqi Army do not venture out beyond the barriers and go after the people who build these bombs, there will be no positive results. If this facade of security is just accepted, then I’m afraid that this strategy of letting the Iraqi’s control their own cities will fail. Take a lesson from the Pakistani Army, and go out and get them.

obama is weak, caving in to terror and dictators and the world has no void it is quickly filled back with these groups bombing. Sorry but the truth hurts. World needs leadership and Mr O isnt showing any – not on north korea, not on iran, not on iraq, not on illegal immigration, not on china’s economic takeover of africa. zero.
