Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) - The watch and jewelry auction season in Geneva gets underway in mid-November with the sale of what auction house Antiquorum calls “the world’s most complicated timepiece,” the yellow gold Patek Philippe Calibre 89, whose selling price is estimated at CHF4.5-5.5 million. The watch, which has a total of 33 complications, was last sold in 1989.
“Only four unique models of the Calibre 89 were ever produced; one each in yellow, pink and white gold and one in platinum,” according to the auction house description. The watch is part of the Matsuda Collection. The most recent sale of one of the others, the white gold Calibre 89, was sold in 2004.
