Geneva, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – The sign in front of the mosque in the Geneva suburb of Petit-Saconnex was covered in pink paint during the night of 25-26 November, reports the Tribune de Genève. It is the third time this month that the site has been a target for vandals and troublemakers: the façade of the mosque was stoned 15 November, and a week earlier a group of right-wing radicals made a false call to prayer at 07:00.
The country votes on whether or not to prohibit the building of minarets in Switzerland Sunday 29 November but some observers believe the vote is more about the changing role of Islam in Swiss society.

This is big test.I think the swiss are not in anyway ready for a multicultural society. some may dream it , but it is so so far away.i met one last week who clearly said Switzerland is the height and heart of Europe, they have no chance to be here.

It is both commendable and exemplary that in the face of such noxious provocations the 400,000 strong Swiss Muslim community have chosen to maintain such incredible restraint and dignity.
So far there have been no reports of violence or rioting, in stark contrast to the ugly bigotry exposed to the mosque vandalism incidents, as well as the recent Geneva riots in response to the WTO meeting.
