ok small village, one person missing before and no body found and no a secound person missing with no access to a car only a midnight train. A short walk and this man should have been at his hotel.

there is defo something very very strange going on here, he seems like a sensable chap and would not take a wonder in the freezing nite even when tipsy.

what gets me is that the first missing person was never found. this case is abit x-files and very much spooky/strange..

defo of my snowboard list!

A police investigation was in fact started immediately and is continuing. You can't start a criminal investigation without some kind of evidence of a crime and so far nothing has surfaced. The police don't necessarily think he has left town or that he is hiding. And in Switzerland the police often don't share the details of their investigations, but it doesn't mean they aren't looking or checking thoroughly. The family will know the answers to a lot of these questions. He was staying in a hotel with his family. Cell phone: his mother told me that they kept trying to call the morning he was missing and there were signals until lunchtime, but experts here have told them the mountains make it difficult to accurately pinpoint a signal. What at first appeared to be a signal from the south of Wengen could have been from Murren, bouncing off the mountainside. The family has said they think the police are doing a very good job of investigating. The rest of us might have to wait for details, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening.

This story has been kept alive by largely repeating the facts that became apparent within 2 days of Myles disappearance. It is reported that the police believe him to be alive. As they have not started a criminal investigation they must think he is either hiding in Wengen, which seems very unlikely or he has left the town. Either of these possibilities raise terrible issues for his family.
Is his passport and any vehicle keys still in his room?
Has his credit cards or bank account been used?
What has been learned from his cell phone?
Have enquiries been made at the station to see if he left by the first train on the day he was last seen?
Have enquiries been made at Lauterbrunnen to see if his vehicle has gone or if he hired one?
I know Wengen very well and the whole place is run with the usual Swiss efficiency. I cannot believe the police are any the less efficient.
What are we not being told?

Police should immediately search all buildings in Wengen, with particular attention to possible well-concealed underground chambers. Otherwise,Wengen and the surrounding district should be blacklisted as a tourist destination. Daniel Baptista vanished there in 2006.Wengen seems to have the face of an angel, but at its heart there is smouldering hell.
