Stamford Bridge, London (GenevaLunch) – The English internationals Frank Lampard and John Terry shook off any fatigue from their mid-week match against Egypt to beat Stoke 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Aston Villa came back from 2-0 down to win 2-4 thanks to a hat-trick by their Norwegian striker John Carew. They will meet Chelsea in the semi-finals.

Portsmouth beat Birmingham 2-0 to give their fans a bit of good news after the club was forced into administration. Their next oppoments will be either Tottenham or Fulham  after a 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage.

In the Premier League Manchester United beat Wolves 0-1 to move to the top of the table, two points ahead of Chelsea but having played one more game. Arsenal beat Burnley 3-1.
