Thousands of families in the US are fleeing inland looking for shelter as Hurricane Earl slammed the Outer Banks area of North Carolina flooding some parts of the narrow vacation islands and knocking out electricity in the State.
New York is bracing itself for Earl’s impact tomorrow as the hurricane, now downgraded to a category two, tears north along the eastern seaboard. Also on the Earl’s path is Massachusetts where authorities planned to set up a shelter at a high school.
