British Prime Minister David Cameron flew to the south of France in time to take his leave of his father Ian, 77, who died after a stroke with heart complications Wednesday 8 September while vacationing in the south of France. Cameron had just returned to work from paternity leave following the birth of his daughter. He flew to Toulon on a commercial flight from London, and French President Nicolas Sarkozy provided a helicopter to get him to the hospital. Cameron said of his father that he was a “role model”.
