Lausanne, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – Lausanne drivers and pedestrians are getting used to their new, week-old giant clock in the form of a 30-metre Longines panel on the south face of the Place Chauderon 9b building.
It overlooks the Chauderon bridge, one of the city’s busiest road areas. The clock marks the countdown to the 14th World Gymnaestrada, a major international demonstration and festival of gymnastics organized by the Federation International de Gymnastiques. The event runs from Sunday 10 July at 16:00 to 16 July.
The gala celebration of all things gymnastics is expected to be the largest sports event, in terms of participants, that Switzerland has hosted in recent years or possibly the largest ever, according to the national tourism office, with 20,000 athletes expected from five continents and 52 countries. Tickets are on sale online and through TicketCorner.
