The BBC‘s most popular stories today include one from AP about two robbers who held up a jewelry store in Madison, Wisconsin in the US and got away – but only for a minute. They were then held up by two other thieves in the street, a fight broke out, followed by a car chase. Police caught up with and arrested four men, but found no goods were found and they are now looking for more suspects. Madison’s police have been keeping busy: they’ve just completed a $35,000 two-week sting operation dubbed “Frigidaire” because it involved a maintenance man stealing 19 Frigidaire sinks, 24 refrigerators and 13 air room conditioneres from condominiums being renovated. He was selling them at a good discount on the black market.
