Printer’s Devilry
by Chalicea
Printer’s Devilry cryptic crosswords are possibly the most difficult of the cryptics. If you would like to work on the interactive version, click on this link that will take you to the Crossword Compiler page.
Each across clue is a passage of text from which the solution has been removed, with spacing and punctuation altered to create grammatical sense, though perhaps less logical sense than the original. For example, ‘To add spice to foods, try each a lot’ (6) could clue TINGES (To add spice to food, try eating eschalot). Down clues are of a kind.
