It’s late and at this hour the news doesn’t always make sense. Sometimes it doesn’t in the morning, either, but we can hope it will. I was about to post a story about the Swiss Parliament passing a new law that covers arms. The first part was clear: there will be no national firearms register, and soldiers may continue to keep their Swiss Army rifles at home. So far, the news is clear.

And then I get to the last sentence of the RSR report and, can this be right? Baseball bats, lead pipes and bicycle chains  can now be seized as weapons if they are carried in public. Sounds like an update of that old game Clue except that there is no library or billiards rooms. How do you avoid carrying your bicycle chain in public if your bike breaks down and as for baseball bats, does this mean baseball must now be played in private?

I was going to invite the Yankees over one of these days, but forget that idea.
