Warren Buffett is not only the world’s richest man, according to Forbes, but he might rank as the best-known but most misspelled nameholder. Four people have had contact with me today, mentioning the man, and among us we’ve had three spellings. I googled to make sure mine was correct and discovered that there are as many things written about Mr Buffett as about Mr Buffet (catch this one quickly, as The Times has made this mistake in its headlines, but not its stories, before, and often catches it  later). Oops, there he is again on ABC! There are a few Warren Bufetts out there, too, and even some Mr Buffitts.

William Shakespeare* was born too early or he would not have written, "I wish to God thou and I knew where a commodity of good names were to be bought." Warren Buffett of Omaha, Nebraska: that’s the address you wanted, Will.
