There’s a whole generation out there who have grown up thinking they would be investment bankers and who are now faced with the grim news that not just a future job, but a whole career ahead of them might turn out to be a pipedream, writes Roger Cohen, a New York Times in “The King is dead.” A side effect of the financial mess could be that prices for plumbing and home repairs fall, as new graduates turn to old-fashioned manual piping skills to put some bread on their table. Of course, we might then have to worry about which way the pipes are installed.
