Garden ::
The speed with which nature takes us from summer to winter is an annual, predictable surprise, with just a pause for monotones between the bright colours of late autumn and the white of winter.
It’s a time when we’re reminded to look up, at the bloodless dawn sky and the elegant moon setting early in the morning, in preparation for December’s more serious approach to cold and snow.
The sky is our first clue that we’re done weeding and cutting and cleaning: it’s too late now, and any chores not finished will have to wait for Spring.
