Geneva, Switzerland – This could be one of the best resources for those looking for non-organized outdoor activities and other local resources.
Campagnon.ch is a guide to Canton Geneva’s countryside. The interactive map, offered in French and English, shows activities available in the canton and locates them on a map for your convenience. It also gives you the physical address and website (when available) of B&B, breweries and other businesses in the campagne genevoise.
In Campagnon you can access a list of:
- Nature trails for hiking
- River trails, with a list of downloadable walks
- Vineyards open for wine tasting and purchasing of products
- Farmhouses and horticultural farms where you can buy homegrown produce
- Artisanal breweries
- Tables d’hôtes (family-style dining)
- Country bed and breakfasts (B&B)
- Camp sites on Lake Geneva
- Fitness trails, with suggested exercises along the route
- Trails for people with limited mobility
- “Cyclevasions trails,” a biking guide to car-free roads, as well as “cyclotourism trails” a biking guide for the best scenic roads in Geneva.
- Scenic picnic areas and picnic areas with grills
- Best animal watching in the canton
In addition, click on MOBILITY on the lower left side of the screen, it will highlight on the map the best walking trails, horseback riding circuits, recommended bike routes and “Geneve Roule” sites available in the summer.
The map is also available in printed form from tourist offices.
