Geneva, Switzerland - The sports agenda for the winter period in the City is full of activities for children and adults. Get your gear ready, lace up and cut some ice pronto because the ice skating rinks close their doors for the season at the end of February.
Ice Hockey, Roller Blading and Ice Skating
- Acacias: Indoor hockey – rink
- Bastions park: Good old ice skating until 28 February. Skate rentals cost CHF2.
- Charmilles: Outdoor hockey and roller blading. The patinoire is located next to the Charmilles mall and it is run by the city.
- Meyrin has the largest outdoor skating rink in canton Geneva and is open until 7 March 2010.
- Thonex: At the Sous-Moulin sports centre an indoor skating rink.
- Vernets: Indoor hockey on ice (and pool)

Another option is ice skating in Flon, Lausanne for the day. A short train ride and a whole new ice.
