Geneva, Switzerland – Winter may be starting to wind down but there is still plenty of time to squeeze in a few more days of fun in the snow. I am talking about push-off and speed-down kind of fun! Adrenaline infused jumps and other fun things to do with kids and teens on weekends.
This could also be an excellent resource if your kid is off from school this week and without real plans for the holidays. The Swiss tourism site includes fun sites in the Lake Geneva region, Vaud and Valais!
Also, see the post on fun in the snow in St. Cergue near Geneva and read about ice skating around the Canton!

Geneva, Switzerland – One of the first things we did when we arrived in Geneva was to buy a Carte Junior which gave our 8 year-old free rides on all public transport systems in Switzerland for one year! That is a bargain a parent cannot pass up.

Geneva, Switzerland – Is your child set on getting a pet for Christmas? Some children might want an elephant, others a kitty, but which one is right for your child? Although as parents we might know which is the best option we could also leave it to them to find out if the animal of their dreams is the right kind of pet. That’s easy, all you need is the internet and a little bit of time.
Geneva, Switzerland – Do you know what a Pedibus is? Well, it is sort of a school bus for small children. The Pedibus, just as any school bus line, collects students at scheduled stops. But the similarity ends there.
The pedibus can be described as an ambulatory service relying on the children’s own force to usher them to school grounds.
Geneva, Switzerland – A fun weekend activity for kids and adults in Geneva is to visit the Botanical Gardens, its exhibits, and the incredible carousel on its premises.
The Carrousel des fables was created as a tribute to the fables written by French poet, Jean de la Fontaine. The metal structure recreates many of the characters in the fables. A truly formidable mix of machinery and imagination.
Geneva, Switzerland – Visiting the UN might not sound like the kind of “fun” activity for entertaining kids on a summer afternoon in Geneva, but the scene of little ones in swimsuits dancing among the synchronized water jets at the UN Plaza during the summer, tells a different story.
Everyday groups of parents, grandparents, child minders and kids spend time in front of the Broken Chair monument in Place des Nations, or Nations square, directly across from the UN Palace in Geneva.
Geneva, Switzerland – Calling all children for outdoor fun! Although the much dreaded back-to-school date is getting closer, there are still plenty of outdoor activities for children to enjoy. One option in particular offers kids the chance to meet other kids in a fun environment: the “ludotheques,” and until the end of September, the “ludo bus.”
The largest second-hand children’s clothing and toys sale in Lake Geneva
Geneva, Switzerland – This is the mother of all second-hand sales in the Lake Geneva region.
Bikes, roller blades, camping- or snow-equipment, books in English for children and adults, video games, DVDs, toys, board games, strollers and top quality baby equipment, as well as clothing for children and women, can be found under one roof, twice a year in Geneva.
This is not for the faint of heart.
On sale day, would-be shoppers form a frenzied line stretching out the front door and around the block, waiting for the doors to open.
At 1 pm, the shopping craze begins.
The most experienced shoppers go directly for the things they want or need. Less experienced shoppers are bumped to and fro by the mass of people swarming around them.
